Grants

To all non profits mentioned below, and especially those not, we say thank you for your passion, devotion and guidance in helping Americans have a better life!

2007 Grants

While featuring our usual support of impressive, valuable non profits such as POWER, Perry Nursery and Bethany Christian Services, 2007 ended for SKCF with two interesting grants. The first is our support of CHADD. CHADD is Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and are the leading advocate for this at risk population. They, in conjunction with SKCF, the Ann Arbor Academy and Eton Academy will present an intensive, day long workshop on all aspects of ADHD for southeastern Michigan educators, on April 28, 2008.

The second grant is our support for Therapeutic Riding's campaign to construct a new facility. Therapeutic Riding's innovative program aids adults and children of all disabilities. They will open a new facility, with brand new barn, stables, paddocks and pens in summer of 2008.

2006 Grants

SKCF aided in the publication of a Land and Lawyer Handbook. This important handbook, produced by the Washtenaw Land Trust, offers assistance and advice to land owners and attorney's as they navigate the rules and regulations involved with land preservation.

Renovations of facilities was an important area for SKCF in 2006. Funds supported the new Center for Family Health Teen Center, in Jackson, Michigan. This center, open to the whole county, offers medical and dental services, focusing on teenagers. In Detroit, SKCF granted monies to Christ Child House to renovate their foster care home and enable that fine organization to help their teenagers. And SKCF was proud to see the completion boundless playground project located in Ypsilanti, Michigan at Heritage Park.

The SKCF missions of environment and at risk children were fulfilled by grants to Southeastern Michigan Land Conservancy and the Stewardship Network along with grants to the Student Advocacy Center, Lily Missions Center and our long running commitment to the Fetal Alcohol Diagnostic and Educational Clinic, operated by the University of Michigan.
