    Mary Malewicz-Carter, PhD, MPH, MBA | Executive Director/Founder

    Mary has been volunteering her time since the founding of SKCF in 2009. Her main responsibilities include contractual matters and local regulatory compliance; securing training and education for medical staff. She is a member of the due diligence team, ensuring staff readiness for the AKI program. Mary works in research and innovations focusing on advancing human health.     John Callegari, PhD, MPH, MBA | Chief Operating Officer/Founder

    John has been volunteering his time since the founding of SKCF in 2009. His main responsibilities include procuring essential supplies to operate each program, overseeing supply chain logistics whether by air, sea or ground and managing all matters financial. He is a member of the due diligence team, ensuring each site’s readiness for the AKI program. John works in healthcare in the financial arena, advancing access to healthcare for all.     Richard Quigley, MD

    Rich has been volunteering at SKCF since 2009. He provides expertise in technology, procurement , and logistics utilizing agile methodology.

    Rich works in the defense industry providing global procurement and distribution solutions supporting the armed services. During his spare time he enjoys watersports, golf, and pickleball.

  • Walter Carter | Board of Directors

    Walter Carter, Walter Carter, MA, LPCC, NCC, (ACA-L2), MBA, Mental Health Counselor.

    Walter began his journey with SKCF back in 2010 while visiting Tanzania during a volunteer opportunity, learning first hand how lives were being saved through Peritoneal Dialysis. In 2012 he volunteered for six months in Moshi, Tanzania helping to facilitate medical treatment being provided to local villages without accessible doctors and medicine. Walter is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and continues supporting the accessibility of healthcare to those in need. He values this meaningful and purposeful work helping to positively impact the lives of others and is grateful for being part of SKCF.

    Alexandra Callegari

    Alex began working with SKCF at the time of its founding, while in college studying sociology and public health. As a volunteer she was able to be a part of planning multiple successful fundraisers, and eventually had the opportunity to spend several months in Africa working alongside doctors bringing care to remote locations. Alex is committed to making healthcare accessible to all, and privileged to work with SKCF!

  • Chris Esezobor | Advisory Board Member

    Professor: IPNA Fellow, Department of Paediatrics, College of Medicine, University of Lagos & Honorary Consultant Paediatrician & Paediatric Nephrologist: Lagos University Teaching Hospital

    Dr Chris Esezobor is a Professor of Paediatrics and Paediatric Nephrology in the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is a fellow of both National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and West African College of Physicians. In 2010 he was awarded fellowship in Paediatric Nephrology by the International Pediatric Nephrology Association. He doubles actively as a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Nephrologist to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and runs a one-stop paediatric nephrology clinic every Monday which cares for children with a wide-range of kidney diseases.

    His expertise includes acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, fluid and electrolyte disorders and genetics of kidney disease. His is also keenly engaged in research work that seeks to improve the understanding of these conditions in children.
