    Mary Malewicz-Carter, PhD, MPH, MBA | Executive Director/Founder

    Mary has been volunteering her time since the founding of SKCF in 2009. Her main responsibilities include contractual matters and local regulatory compliance; securing training and education for medical staff. She is a member of the due diligence team, ensuring staff readiness for the AKI program. Mary works in research and innovations focusing on advancing human health.     John Callegari, PhD, MPH, MBA | Chief Operating Officer/Founder

    John has been volunteering his time since the founding of SKCF in 2009. His main responsibilities include procuring essential supplies to operate each program, overseeing supply chain logistics whether by air, sea or ground and managing all matters financial. He is a member of the due diligence team, ensuring each site’s readiness for the AKI program. John works in healthcare in the financial arena, advancing access to healthcare for all.     Christofer Holland, Director of Development

    Christofer spent a decade working as an Executive Assistant to Nathan Levin at The Renal Research Institute in New York City working with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and The International Society of Nephrology (ISN). His passion and side-career is in songwriting / music production.

  • Monika Krol

    Monika Krol, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer (MEAL), Cultural Anthropologist

    Monika Krol is a Cultural Anthropologist and internationally published researcher and writer. She served as research consultant and co-author of the International Association for Volunteer Effort’s Corporate Volunteering for a Post-Pandemic World report. Currently she works as a Researcher and Writer for the nonprofit sector on a series of articles capturing and telling the stories of nonprofits in Poland relief efforts, humanitarian developments and recommendations in the context of the Russia-Ukrainian War and is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer (MEAL).

    Born in Poland, Monika holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Ramapo College of New Jersey in the United States, and a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She has over 20 years of experience as an administrative professional and project manager.

    Research interests include; disaster anthropology, refugee and migration studies, study of Indigenous communities, volunteerism, and philanthropy

  • Layla Landgraf

    Layla Landgraf, MS, MT, CCRC | Board Member

    Layla has been volunteering her time since 2019. Her main responsibilities include raising awareness about the plight of women and children in sub-Saharan Africa dying from treatable acute kidney injury (AKI) resulting from diarrheal disease, malaria, and gestational hypertension, and supporting the existing programs in Ghana. When not volunteering for SKCF, she works in global clinical operations in pharmaceutical research and development, advancing human health.
